The transition from middle to high school isn't holding the ILHS freshman class back!  A record number of members of the Class of 2023 earned Red Card status during the recent Renaissance Assembly for the first nine weeks.
In fact, more than 270 ILHS students earned a Red, Black or White card for the quarter. These cards reward positive behaviors, good grades, attendance and good citizenship with several levels of incentives. See the complete list here.
During the assembly, Assistant Principal Dave Coburn also explained the new Laker Cards that teachers are now handing out when they see students doing something positive in the hallways or classrooms. The Laker cards can be used to purchase snacks or small items in the Laker Store that will be open during lunch periodically. In addition, those earning Laker cards will be entered into a drawing for larger prizes throughout the year. The Renaissance Program and Laker Cards are all part of the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) initiatives.
