A total of eight young ladies from ILHS will gain valuable experience in the operation of government and make friends for a lifetime at Buckeye Girls State this summer. 
Chloe Burba, daughter of Wade Burba and Dawn Burba of Huntsville, Kaya Campbell, daughter of Jeremi Campbell and Erica Oakley of Lewistown, Hayli Hamilton, daughter of Billy and Kira Black of Huntsville, Megan Hook, daughter of Michele Wrocklage of Russells Point, Kayla Richards, daughter of Jamie and Nick Tucci of Belle Center, Macey Taylor, daughter of Travis and Mindy Taylor of Huntsville, Isabelle Young, daughter of Dan and Rebecca Young of Huntsville and Kristen Young, daughter of Travis and Tisha Young and Mindie Fox of Huntsville have been selected to represent Indian Lake High School at the 2019 Buckeye Girls’ State held on the University of Mount Union campus. Buckeye Girls’ State is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary of Ohio. It is locally sponsored by
the Charles Collins Ladies Auxiliary Post 381. 

Participants must meet several qualifications.  Candidates must be juniors in high school, interested in government and current events, and have an above average scholastic standing.  The young women must also demonstrate high moral character, possess strong leadership skills, and have a desire for learning. The purpose of Buckeye Girls’ State is to educate young women from Ohio in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of good citizenship.
