This is the image for the news article titled Ignite Leadership ConferenceIndian Lake High School recently hosted the Ignite 2019 Leadership Conference in conjunction with the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center. 
High school students from 11 different districts from Hardin, Logan and Shelby County gathered for the day long summit. They interacted with 15 presenters from diverse sectors. About a dozen ILHS students attended. 
Coordinator and MRESC Director of Student Achievement Erica Baer says,
"The sessions were designed to spark awareness of vital leadership skills and attributes and provide opportunities for access to strong role models with local roots, empowering students to become strong leaders in our local communities."

The speaker line up included 
Jena Powell, Ohio (State) Representative, 80th District; Lydia Doye, Naval Academy graduate and instructor; Becky McDonald, founder of WAR, International (recovering human dignity through empowering work); Small Nation, Bellefontaine’s revitalization visionaries; Chuck Price, Leadership Expert, owner of High Grounds café; Cheryl Bender, Executive Director of The ClubhouseRichard Bender, Executive Director of United Way Miami County; Mike Nygren, founder of The Idea Factory and leadership coach; Caitlin Miller, co-owner of Miller Flowers, founder of Living BraveKlodiana & Tony Tedesco, attorneys-at-law; Caleb Ingram, founder of Declare Dayton; Lorien George, project manager, Carry the Love; and a tentative virtual closing with Chris Pan, founder of My Intent. 

At the end of the day, students set their goals and “intentions” for leadership during the upcoming year and over the next five years, with options for additional follow-up at the district level.
