IL Superintendent Rob Underwood challenged members of his Laker Leadership Council to think of even more ways we can improve our district.
Underwood recently met with members of the council in the ILMS Media Center. He wanted to hear their ideas and solicit new ones before heading in to the holiday break.
He asked, "Are we doing the little things that put you in a position to be successful? Think about the direction we need to be going to keep improving."
Members of the student advisory group suggested continuing last year's push for digital empowerment with online expert Scott Frank. The group also discussed the implementation of the Lake Effect and R-Factor lessons, along with PBIS incentives this school year.
Superintendent Underwood shared that office discipline referrals are significantly down, not just at the high school, but district-wide.
The Laker Leadership Council is a group of 20 freshman through seniors chosen by Underwood to bring different perspectives for consideration when school officials and board members are making decisions for the future and strategic planning.
