Nearly 150 ILHS juniors and seniors are seriously considering their options for the future  after the recent Logan County College Day event.
Students had the opportunity to speak with representatives from area 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities, technical schools and the military during the 37th annual event held at Ben Logan High School sponsored by the
Midwest Regional Educational Service Center.
ILHS Senior Aubrey Grider is already accepted to Bowling Green State University. However, she took advantage of College Day to explore her options. Grider says, “I am open to checking out other places to see if anything else looks as appealing.” With an older brother and sister in college, Grider also knows what questions to ask of the representatives about issues like application deadlines, fee waivers and scholarship opportunities.
Logan County College Day is offered to upperclassmen from ILHS, along with Bellefontaine City, Benjamin Logan Local, Ohio Hi Point Career Center, and Riverside Local Schools. A panel of speakers from two-year, four-year, state and private schools and the military also met with students to describe the various educational options and explain the importance of ACT and ASVAB scores.  MRESC Youth Development Liaison Karen Sorreles says nearly 70 institutions were on-hand to meet with approximately 1200 local students.
