Indian Lake High School students made connections for their future at the 39th Annual Logan County College Day.
The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center invited area high school juniors, seniors, and their parents to participate in the yearly event at Benjamin Logan High School. Students could meet with representatives from more than 70 colleges, universities, technical schools and the US military to start planning for life after high school.
ILHS Senior Matthew Risner is narrowing down his choices to schools within two hours of home that offer a strong program in Statistics. With older siblings already through college, he knew to start making contacts early.
"In your junior year, if you can meet people from schools you are considering, they'll help set you up and get to know the right people in your major field. Right now I'm really looking at class size as a determining factor for where I'll go," said Risner.
High school students from Bellefontaine City, Benjamin Logan Local, Indian Lake Local, Ohio Hi Point Career Center, and Riverside Local Schools participated in this year's College Day.
In addition, A panel made up of speakers from two-year, four-year, state and a private school in addition to military also presented to students about topics ranging from scholarships and financial aide to campus life.
