This year's juniors are already planning to be next year's seniors! We've only just started the second semester and already it's time to start considering the next school year. ILHS guidance counselors Greg Tuttle and Sherry Poe met with the Class of 2021 recently to continue formulating plans for the future.

Tuttle advised students to have a Plan A and a Plan B, "Make sure you are thinking ahead to a couple of paths you may want to follow. Now is the time to started deciding those things that affect your future."

Whether a student is considering attending a 4-year or 2-year college, joining the military or entering the workforce after graduation, the counselors explained that this is a critical time for making decisions. Tuttle encouraged the juniors to schedule a few college or company visits and Poe suggested talking with their parents about classes and options for next school year. They also encouraged students to be aware of college application deadlines that may fall over the summer or early next fall.  All juniors will be taking the ACT on February 25th during school hours.

Finally, juniors received their transcripts and scheduling sheets. They'll begin meeting individually with Mr. Tuttle and Ms. Poe now to set up classes and programs for Fall 2020. Counselors will be meeting with underclassmen and 8th graders in the coming weeks to work on their schedules for next year as well.  You can check out the course description book for the 2020-21 school year by clicking https://ilhsguidance.weebly.com/course-descriptions-20-21.html
