2020 is a year like no other, so it stands that the ILHS Student Council Volleyball Tournament to benefit the Chippewa Outreach Centers would be one for the books!
The day before Thanksgiving Break, 17 teams of students entered the Volleyball Tournament bubble. This meant the players stayed in the ILHS main gym all day, masking as much as possible, but unmasking when playing in a match.
Of those 17 teams, the two finalists were Steine's Kids defeated the Blockbusters for the right to take on the dominant Staff Infection team of ILHS staff members.
After losing the first set, Steine's Kids regrouped and refocused. In the end they defeated the ILHS Staff Infection for the first student team win in at least 7 years!
Proceeds from the annual Volleyball Tournament will again go to support the Chippewa Outreach Center. The tournament netted $600 that
will help fund Outreach Christmas Party presents for dozens of local children.
