STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Congratulations to Raina Amstutz and Tyler Fauley for being selected to perform in the Capital University Honors Band on Saturday, November 7th. 184 students were selected from over 350 nominations from over 75 schools.

This week the Outreach Centers will be closed through Friday.

Vision and hearing tests will be given today to all freshmen, juniors, and new students who were not tested yesterday.

Business Professionals of America members will meet today in the gym at 8:20.

A representative from the Navy will be here for a lunch visit today.

Spanish Club will meet tomorrow at 8:10 in Mr. Yocum's room.

There will be a brief meeting with the new NHS members tomorrow morning in the cafeteria at 8:05.

Picture Re-take Day is tomorrow. If you have not had your picture taken, you must do so on Friday. If you would like to purchase a package, order envelopes are in Mrs. Seeley's office.

Any seniors wanting to purchase a class composite photo may pick up an order envelope in Mrs. Seeley's office. Turn your order envelope in tomorrow on Picture Re-take Day.

Plan now to share a memory or honor a loved one who had/has cancer. There are forms in the office to write your message. These messages will be scrolled on the scoreboard during the IL vs Bellefontaine football game Friday, October 26th. This game is a Pink Out in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. Each message costs $10.00 and 100% goes to Logan County Cancer society.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wear pink on Tuesday each week for a Pink Out. Students are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Reminder: Science Club dues are due by Oct. 31st. See Mr. Steinbarger if you have any questions.

Indian Lake Community Church has started an after-school program for students ages 11-18 on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 5:30 pm. The after-school program will be held in the Lookout behind the Gathering Grounds in Russells Point. Computers will be available as well as homework help. There will be a bus that drops students off there after school. Forms are available at the Lookout and the Indian Lake Transportation Dept.

Seniors - Don't forget that the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opened on October 1. The state of Ohio encourages seniors to fill out the FAFSA by December 31. Indian Lake will be hosting a FAFSA Help Ohio night on November 8 in the Media Center from 4:30 - 6:00. During this time your parents can come in with 2017 tax information and receive help with filling out the FAFSA. Please sign up in Guidance.

Saturday: CBC Cross Country Championships at ILHS. There will be a charge when you park per person in the vehicle. The charge will be $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students to get in to the race. Girls Varsity Soccer will play at Shawnee High School. Game time is 3:00 pm.

If ordering a ring, get a free hoodie and companion ring with a $75 down payment. Seniors, there is still time to order a class ring. Seniors ordering graduation supplies will need to bring a $75 down payment or pay in full. Extra ring and graduation order packets are available in the office. See Mrs. Beale.

Homecoming dance will start at 8:00 and end at 11:00 pm. The dance is semi-formal.

A huge thank you goes out to all of the sophomores who turned in applications and essays for HOBY. Congratulations to Ashlyn Shaner, who will be representing Indian Lake High School as next summer's representative.

Students: There is a new rule for throwing candy if you are in the Homecoming parade. Candy must be thrown unhand to the crowd. If this does not happen, we will not be allowed to throw candy in the future.

SADD members: Remember to bring candy for the Homecoming parade. If you can ride with SADD, please stop by the library and let me know. Also some members have turned in contracts for life but not your five dollars. If you plan on joining SADD please have both turned in by the end of the week.

If you are a student taking Spanish, the Knowlton Library in Bellefontaine is looking for volunteers to supervise and work with young Spanish speaking children on Tuesdays and Thursdays. See Mrs. Rapp for more details.

Pre-sale tickets for the Homecoming dance will be on sale during lunch. $7.00 for singles or $10.00 a couple. Tickets will also be available at the door. The Homecoming dance will be on Saturday, October 6 8:00-11:00 pm. Semi-formal dress is expected.
