STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
INDIAN LAKE HIGH SCHOOL
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2021

Freshman Student Council members will meet at 8:05 in the cafeteria this morning.

Jostens will meet with all seniors in the auditorium from 8:05 - 8:45. Because of this meeting, Meisters will meet in the choir room.

The Jostens representative will return to take orders for your letter jackets and class rings on Wednesday, September 29th in the cafeteria during lunch and after school from 4:30 - 6:30pm. Payment is due in full when you order. Order forms are available in the office. You get your choice of a custom hoodie, backpack or earbuds, and a companion ring with your order and $100 down payment. Extra ring packets are available in the office.

All students will receive free admission to the home soccer games vs. Bellefontaine on Monday.

Attention students: The school year is off to a great start and let’s keep it going. The enthusiasm and support you have shown for our teams has been outstanding, but always remember you are representing yourselves and Indian Lake to the entire community. Everything you say and do has an impact on those around you, so have fun, be passionate, and represent your school in a way that will make everyone proud. The football team is at Ben Logan on Friday and the theme is a white out.

Spirit week is next week, show Laker spirit with the following theme days:
Monday- Pajama day
Tuesday- Frat day
Wednesday- Pink out
Thursday- Jersey day
Friday- Laker Pride day

Show your class spirit by decorating your class hallways! Decorate using your class theme or Laker Pride! All decorations must be approved by class advisor and balloons are prohibited.

If you plan to bring a date from another school to the homecoming dance, you will need to complete a Guest Admission form by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th. Forms can be picked up in the office.

Tickets for the homecoming dance will be on sale beginning Monday, Sept. 27 in the cafeteria during lunch. Tickets are 7$ individual or $10.00 a couple. The Homecoming dance is October 2nd from 8pm -11pm, under the stadium grandstand. A limited number of tickets will be available the night of the dance.

Juniors and seniors, you will attend College Day at Ben Logan on Wednesday. You will leave at 8:30 and return at 11:00.

The Lady Lakers golf team competed in the CBC post-season tournament at Mill Creek. Three ladies brought home some awards. Junior, Regan Ross came in 2nd place out of 64 golfers with a great score of 82 and earned 1st team CBC. Sophomore, Bree Stid, carded a 103 and earned 2nd team CBC. Freshman, Emma Meyer, scored a 131 and brought home the Sportsmanship Award. Congratulations!

Sophomores, you will be decorating your homecoming float on Saturday at Ryan Culp’s house at 6:00 pm. Bring any decoration items you can.

Business Professionals of America will meet today in the gym at 8:05.

Laker Leadership Council members will meet with Mr. Underwood today in the library from 8:05 to 9:00.

The Lady Lakers golf team earned back to back wins against Northwestern. The ladies travelled to Reid Park and brought home the victory 210-271. Leading the Lakers was Junior Regan Ross with a score of 41. Sophomore, Bree Stid scored her second best score of the season with a 48. Senior, Kayla Cummins, finished her high school career of regular season matches with a 58. Freshman, Emma Meyer, scored a 63. Great job ladies!

The ASVAB will be held on Monday, October 4th. This test is required for those who want to enter the military but is open to all students who are interested in taking it. The sign-up sheet is hanging on the door outside of Guidance. The deadline to sign up is this Friday.

The Lady Lakers golf team earned a big win against Northwestern 229-273. Medalist for the match was Regan Ross with a 42. Sophomore, Bree Stid chipped in a 51. Freshman, Emma Meyer scored a 64 and Lauren added a 72 to the team score.

The girls golf team will be dismissed at 2:45 today.

The ASVAB will be held on Monday, October 4th. This test is required for those who want to enter the military but is open to all students who are interested in taking it. The sign-up sheet is hanging on the door outside of Guidance. The deadline to sign up is this Friday.

For those students who are on the NHS eligibility list hanging in various places around the building, this is a reminder that your paperwork is due to Mrs. Keykens via email by Friday at the end of the day. If you were not at the meeting, I have emailed you to remind you to pick up the paperwork that is necessary. No applications will be accepted past the end of the day today.

There will be a Science Club meeting today in the cafeteria at 8:05.

There will be an Improv Club meeting for anyone interested in joining this morning in Mr. Yocum's room at 8:20.

Today is the first student morning prayer huddle "At the Rock". Any student who would like to be part of a prayer should meet outside at the painted rock at 8:05 every Friday morning. Following the group prayer, a youth pastor will be on site and available for individual concerns and guidance through the end of Laker Time. See you "At the Rock".

There will be a National Honor Society meeting for current members only on Monday in the cafeteria at 8:05.

On Tuesday, October 19th the University of Toledo will be coming for a lunch visit.

Indian Lake High School will host Springfield Shawnee for a football game at Laker Stadium tonight. During the game both schools will observe the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. To honor their valiant efforts, any veteran, or current member of the military, police, fire department or emergency responder from the Indian Lake or Springfield Shawnee area will be admitted to the game free of charge if they are wearing a uniform or show ID. They will be recognized prior to the playing of the National Anthem. They will also be invited to gather for a picture under the flag suspended from a fire truck ladder at the north gate to the stadium. Both Laker and Braves fans are encouraged to wear red, white and blue to show our patriotism and respect for the lives lost on that day.

The first 5th Quarter of the season is tonight. All high school students are invited to the middle school after the football game for food, games, and music until 11:30pm.
