Makayla Strauser
Makayla Strauser has been working with and riding horses for many years. She and her horse, Shelby, are now in our #3E Spotlight. It only makes sense that Makayla is #enrolled in the University of Findlay to pursue a degree in Equine Teacher/Training.

Allison KinneyILHS Senior Allison Kinney is about to become a Buckeye! She is accepted and #Enrolled at Ohio State University's Main Campus for the fall of 2023. As the current President of the ILHS/OHP FFA Chapter and an expert on raising and judging chickens, it's no surprise that Kinney will continue in ag. She plans to study Agriculture Communications.

3E Stephanie Altstaetter Stephanie Altstaetter is combining two of her passions for her #3E and that lands her in our 3E Spotlight! She is accepted and #Enrolled at Wilmington College to study Animal Science and play Women's Basketball. As a longtime officer in the ILHS/OHP FFA Chapter and captain of the IL Girls Basketball team, it's a perfect fit! Stephanie plans to study large animal nutrition. She will officially sign to play ball later this spring.

3E Colby Borgerding
ILHS Senior Colby Borgerding has a solid #3 plan in place for his future. He is #Enrolled and accepted at Hocking College in southern Ohio. Colby plans to major in Heavy Equipment Management and study business over the next two years or less. He then wants to work for a local contractor or apply for a union position. Colby hopes to one day own and operate his own construction
 or excavating company.

Jaelyn Hughes
ILHS Senior Jaelyn Hughes is ready to roll into college! She is accepted and #Enrolled at the University of Rio Grande in southern Ohio. Jaelyn was recruited to be a part of the college Bowling Team and she recently signed her letter of intent. She plans to study Social Work. Jaelyn says Rio Grande was a perfect fit for her because they are one of just a few universities in Ohio with a Bowling Team and they will accept all of her College Credit Plus credits that she is taking this year through Rhodes State College.

Gavin Lones

ILHS Senior Gavin Lones is undecided on his college major, but he is sure about baseball! He is #Enrolled and accepted at Wittenberg University where he is excited to be a pitcher on the Tiger team. Gavin will have an official athletic signing ceremony in the spring during baseball season.
Lones was recruited after playing in a tournament on campus over the summer. He likes the area and is thinking about studying Psychology, but is keeping his options open.

Kiersten Clem

ILHS Senior Kiersten Clem has done a lot of research into her career path and she has chosen to #Enroll in Clark State. Clem plans to study Diagnostic Medical Sonography in hopes of becoming an UltraSound Technician specializing in Obstetrics. She already knows her first year will be mostly online classes, followed by classes on the Springfield campus and then clinicals.

Andi Miller
ILHS Senior Andi Miller is aiming for a career in health care and she is #Enrolled at the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima. Andi is accepted and will study Medical Assistant Technology. Miller likes the flexibility that UNOH offers because she can earn a 2-year degree, then go to work or continue on to earn a 4-year degree. In addition, her older sister is a current student at UNOH and her older brother is a graduate. Andi also plans to join the university's Bowling Team.

Beau Young
ILHS Senior Beau Young is already #Enrolled and taking classes at Hocking College.
Beau originally planned to graduate a year early last year and head to Hocking College to study Parks and Museum Education. He's still planning to study the same stuff, but he decided to stay home one more year and finish his true senior year with his Class of 2023 friends.
He explains, "Because I was already accepted to Hocking College last year, I'm now taking a few college classes online and getting credit for both high school and college."
Beau is interested in tourism and the outdoors. He hopes to pursue a career as a Naturalist or Outdoor Educator.

Grace Pequignot
ILHS Senior Soccer and Track standout Grace Pequignot is #Enrolled and #committed to Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
She is accepted and preparing to become part of the Pioneer Women's Soccer program and the Pioneer Track Team as a shot put thrower. She plans to study Exercise Science.
Although it's far away from home, Grace is familiar with the Carroll campus and school because her older brother, Ethan Pequignot, is a member of the Men's Soccer team.
She says, "Since Ethan is there, it'll be good to help me get started. We will be together for a year before he graduates."

Tommy Schmiedebusch


ILHS/OHP Senior Tommy Schmiedebusch is already #Enlisted and ready to serve our country! In June of 2023, he will report to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, a US Military Base. He says, "I’ll be a Horizontal Engineer which means I’ll be a heavy equipment operator." After the Army, Tommy plans to work as a heavy equipment operator in the private sector. He is already getting real world training as part of the Construction Trades study at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.

Marah Reames
Marah Reames is ready to pursue a career as a veterinarian! She is in our #3E Spotlight.
Marah is accepted and #enrolled at the University of Findlay Pre-Vet Studies program. She says, "I've always had pets and been around animals. My mom's best friend is a veterinarian and she really influenced my decision."
Marah is a regular volunteer at a shelter in Champaign County, where she assists with animal surgeries. She chose the University of Findlay specifically because of their pre-veterinary program.

Sierra DeWeese
Sierra DeWeese is our very first ILHS Senior in the #3E Spotlight! She is accepted and #enrolled at The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis where she plans to study Pharmaceutical Sciences en route to a career in drug research and development. Sierra says, "I've been around medicine a lot in my life and I want to help keep people safe."
She currently works as a pharmacy tech assistant at the drug store in Jackson Center. Sierra plans to earn her EMT license next summer, ahead of moving to UHSP.
