ILHS students are working on their interview skills to be able to land a job in the real world!
ILHS College and Career Readiness students practiced interviewing recently during Power Pace Speed Interviews with dozens of local employers in a wide variety of industries.
Mostly junior-level students sat down for one-on-one and group question and answer sessions with representatives from about 25 local law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, manufacturing businesses, medical services, construction trades, automotive industries and more. The mock interviews serve as valuable experience for the young people just entering the workforce and for employers hoping to find a steady source of solid employees.
Employers evaluated the students on their interview performance and gave feedback for improvement. Local employers encouraged the kids to have confidence, practice their responses and be memorable.
The interviews were arranged by the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center's Youth Development program.
