Members of the ILHS Senior Class of 2024 gathered at the start of school to highlight important dates and lay out expectations for their final year of high school!
All seniors met with ILHS Guidance Counselors Greg Tuttle and Alice Weygandt, along with Principal Kyle Wagner and Assistant Principal Dave Coburn recently.
The guidance counselors touched on important dates involving college visits, FAFSA, college deadlines, armed forces lunch visits, ACT information and scholarship deadlines.
Mr. Tuttle advised, "Your decision making process starts now. What direction do you want to go--college, the military or the workforce?"
He continued, "Again you want to try to find your niche, find a job that you're going to like."
Each senior will meet with counselors in the next fews weeks to continue working toward graduation requirements and beyond.
Miss Weygandt continued by encouraging the seniors to make smart decisions in the coming months, including on social media because colleges, the armed forces and potential employers are watching.
"Seriously, be so careful what you post because it might only be up for a little bit, or it might be on your Finsta, or your private page, but if someone sees it and takes a picture, it's forever."
Mr. Wagner and Mr. Coburn wrapped up by discussing broad topics including everyday leadership from the seniors, reporting/recognizing bullying, safe driving, cursing and more.
