ILHS Senior Nora Hollinger is answering the call to become a Hearing Aid Specialist. Nora is #enrolled in an online program called Hearing Aid Academy, LLC. She will complete the course in under a year and take a test to earn her license. Then Nora will be able to work in a hospital setting or audiology office.
Hollinger says helping her grandparents work through the process of getting fitted for hearing aids inspired her.

ILHS Senior Kayla Schwaderer is already working in the health care field and she plans to continue! She is #enrolled in the Nursing program at Wright State University Lake Campus where she will pursue her degree as an RN. Kayla already has her STNA license and works for both Logan Acres and Green Hills Nursing Homes.

ILHS Senior Annie Braig is taking her love of animals and agriculture to the University of Findlay next year. She is #enrolled in the Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary program. Annie says she's always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian.
"It's what I've always wanted to do and I'm glad I was able to take so many ag classes in high school to further that knowledge."
Braig's goat recently gave birth to the first animals born in the ILHS/OHP FFA barn on campus. Annie plans to show those goats and her chickens at this summer's Logan County Fair.

She visited Ohio University and knew it was for her. "It just felt right, exactly like a college town should," Miller explained. After earning her degree, KaiLea hopes to be a Dietician in a medical setting.

ILHS Senior Emery Wagner is ready to serve! He has #enlisted in the Ohio National Guard.
He says, "The military has always interested me, I found that the National Guard would be the best fit. My ultimate career goal would be running the sound of a big music venue or running sound for bands."
Wagner is already attending weekend drill trainings once a month and he will leave for Basic Training in July. After that, Wagner will complete his advanced individual training in radio and communications repair. By the fall of 2025, Emery hopes to be at a college or university studying Communications and Sound Design.

ILHS Senior Eva Carney is all set to pursue Animal Science at the University of Findlay. Although Eva did not grow up on a farm, the ILHS/OHP FFA program exposed her to the wide world of agriculture career opportunities. She has raised chickens and, with a partner, raised turkeys to sell and donate this past Thanksgiving in the new Ag Barn on campus. Carney will earn her FFA State Degree this spring and she's excited to become an artificial insemination specialist.

ILHS Senior Ava Shroyer has already made a name for herself in the national agriculture community and she plans to continue down that country road! Ava is #enrolled in Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois to study Agribusiness next year.
Shroyer will be a member of their livestock judging team. She will earn an Associates degree and then she plans to continue on to Oklahoma State to earn a 4-year degree in Agribusiness or Animal Science.

ILHS Senior Hailey McKinney has a clear picture of what she wants to do in her future! She is accepted and #enrolled at Marion Technical College where she will study Sonography. She will earn her degree in 2 years.
Hailey says, "I just like the idea of being there to help people meet their baby for the first time."
Also known as ultrasound, sonography is a non-invasive way to visualize internal organs. It is often the first imaging test performed when disease is detected.

ILHS Senior Summer Price plans to turn her passion for horses into a career. She is already #enrolled at the Kentucky Horseshoeing School in Richmond, Kentucky. She will train for 36 weeks to become a farrier--a professional who trims and treats hooves on horses.
Summer started showing and working with horses at a young age. She even got her senior pictures done with her beautiful horse, JaeLee. After she graduates from KHS, Summer will also complete an apprenticeship with a local farrier. She hopes to have her own service one day.

ILHS Senior Tony Cummins is excited to enter the world of work with a good plan for learning more skills and continuing the family business.
Upon graduation from high school, Tony will apply and join the the Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Technicians Local #776 of Lima to begin formal welding and construction training. He hopes to do industrial welding while continuing to farm near Lewistown. His older brother, Nate, is already part of organization.

Indian Lake High School volleyball standout Devin Rice is taking her big heart and big hitting to Muskingum University. She is #enrolled and ready to move into a middle hitter role for the Muskies and Coach Hallie Cruzen. Off the court, Devin plans to study Nursing in hopes of becoming a Hospice nurse.
She says, "It's important to be emphatic and it's important that people have someone to care for them in their life, even if it's at the very end."

ILHS Senior Landen Wisener has already entered the world of work, but he has further plans!
Wisener works part-time at the Lakeside Pro Bass now and works on a black top crew for Robinson Asphalt Seal Coating in the summer. Once he graduates and turns 18, he plans to join the Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Technicians Local #776 of Lima to begin formal welding training. Wisener has already taken several welding classes at ILHS.

ILHS Senior Autumn Miller's calling is to work with little kids! She is already accepted and #enrolled in Ashland University's Early Childhood Education program.
Autumn says, "I want to help kids early on. I want them to be able to build upon their skills because they had a good foundation from the start with a caring teacher."
She chose Ashland University because it's not too close to home, but not too far away. Plus it's ranked top five in the nation for education programs.

ILHS Senior Geona Spires is committed to become one of the few, the proud, the Marines!
Spires is enlisted and already attending military trainings on the weekends in Ohio. Her official signing ceremony will happen in a few weeks. She plans to become a Military Police Officer.
“I was just always interested in the military and being an officer, so I put the two together.”
She continues, “I want to see how hard I can push myself and be pushed physically and mentally.”
Spires is inspired by her uncle, who is a Captain is the Marines. She will attend Boot Camp at Parris Island next summer, then move on to MP training late in the fall.

ILHS Senior Carlie Nickel did not grow up on a farm, but her time in FFA has truly influenced her future!
Carlie is already accepted and #enrolled in Wilmington College to study to become an Agriculture Educator. She says her involvement in the ILHS/OHP FFA program inspired her.
"It's something different everyday. I have been behind the scenes in so many activities in our program, I just know that's what I want to do."
Carlie has really enjoyed helping introduce elementary students to FFA during annual Ag Experience Days. She serves as the Assistant Reporter for the chapter and she was a member of the national champion Big E Poultry Judging Team in 2022. Carlie has shown chickens in 4-H for the past several years and she is currently raising turkeys in the on-campus FFA barn to sell and donate to local food pantries at Thanksgiving.

ILHS Senior Becca Bihn is our very first #3E of the 2023-24 school year!
If you know Becca, then you know she loves taking care of people and she's been planning to become a nurse for a long time. Becca is all set to study at Edison State next year in hopes of earning a Registered Nurse degree and working in a children's hospice unit.
She said, "I like children and I've always wanted to be a nurse, so I think helping kids in the hospital is the best path for me."
