ILHS students are finding out what it takes to land the job they want!
ILHS College and Career Readiness students practiced interviewing skills recently during Power Pace Speed Interviews with dozens of local employers in a wide variety of industries.
Mostly junior-level students sat down for one-on-one and group question and answer sessions with representatives from about 25 local law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, manufacturing, medical services, construction trades, automotive industries and more. The mock interviews serve as valuable experience for the young people just entering the workforce and for employers hoping to find a steady source of solid employees.
Employers evaluated the students on their interview performance and gave feedback for improvement. Local employers encouraged the kids to have confidence and be memorable.
The interviews were arranged by the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center's Youth Development program.
