HS Principal's Message

As we enter the 2024-25 school year it is an honor and privilege to serve as the Indian Lake High School principal.  The staff at Indian Lake High School has been working diligently to prepare for the start of school on August 21st, and we are eagerly anticipating the start of the 2024-25 school year!  The safety and well being of every student remains a key focus of all staff.  The leadership team at ILS has worked hard this summer preparing for another successful year. We have a solid plan in place for continued growth and excellence.

In addition to earning 22 credits at the high school, students must complete the additional graduation requirements provided by the Ohio Department of Education.  There are different requirements for each graduating class and you can find your child’s required pathway at this link    http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Ohio-s-Graduation-Requirements

We will be meeting with any senior student who has not yet met the additional requirements within the first week of school to either get them on a tutoring plan to help them score the points they need to graduate or to begin their work on their alternate pathways.

We will continue to train students using R Factor terminology and practices this year.  All Indian Lake students continued working through various levels of training last school year.  As a reminder R Factor is a behavior toolbox.  Here is a brief overview of what students will be learning this year.

“The most complex variable in your world is not the circumstances you encounter or the results you're trying to produce. The most complex variable is the behavior of people in Response to those situations. You don't control Events. You don't control Outcomes. You earn Outcomes based on the discipline of your Response:      E + R = O  Event + Response = Outcome”.

We will continue to use a service called OneView, which enables parents to complete school and athletic forms online.  All parents will need to complete Online Forms for all students.  There will be no hard copies.  The Online Forms can be found at https://indianlake.esvportal.com/ We will again utilize this service as it will save parents time and should help the school operate more efficiently.  Additionally, we will continue to use the same emergency and information notification system as last year that is capable of voice, text, and email alerts.

All students will once again be issued a Chrome book for their use.  There is a $30 insurance charge that all students will need to pay to help cover technology maintenance costs.  All students will need to have all online forms completed and have the $30 insurance charge paid before they can be issued a Chrome book.

Through collaboration with students, parents, and the entire community, our goal is to provide a high quality education that prepares students for the next chapter in their lives.  Visit our website at ils-k12.org for important information and please contact me with questions or concerns.

We continue to provide College Credit Plus offerings and to foster partnerships with local businesses, manufacturers, and the Logan County Chamber to ensure that our students are prepared for college or career.  The high school staff considers it a privilege to educate the youth of Indian Lake and we look forward to collaborating with students, parents, and the community to make 2024-25 a great year!
